Meet the Team
As chefs, we know that the recipe for success is to start with the best ingredients, balance them together in ways that showcase their best qualities and produce a harmonious combination that is a delight to experience.
We apply the same approach to building our team.
Head Chef João asks only the best to be part of his team – talented people who have the industry experience and creative flair needed to deliver the Aroma experience. Our hot young chefs are at the peak of their skills and are hungry to learn more, bringing to each engagement international experience and an appreciation of local ingredients plus of course their love of great food!
No matter which chef caters to your special event, know that they are handpicked for their commitment, work ethic, skills and passion.
Bon appétit!
Meet João
Originally from Brazil, João studied nutrition at the Universidade Veiga de Almeida, where he focused on specialised diets and food preparation techniques.
After graduation, João further satisfied his curiosity and desire to learn by travelling the world’s kitchens. Working in restaurants in Europe and America, he quickly mastered the methods and styles of several cuisines before finally calling Australia home.
Here in Australia, he has worked in many high profile restaurants including Pendolino, Bells at Killcare and the exclusive Pretty Beach House.
With Aroma Catering, he and his team now express their passion for food by delivering customised private chef experiences and event catering.
Meet Tim
From a young age, I was taught to cook by my mother while being raised on the stories of Oscar Wilde. Unsurprisingly, in my adult years, I became a chef and filmmaker with a passion for story.
Whether it’s the produce in a dish or characters in a film, I am forever a student of drama, relishing in the creative endeavour, making moments that forever change my audience. Whether they consume my work with their eyes and ears or put in their mouth, I don’t just cook. I create dramatic experiences they want to relive.
Meet Nikki
Nikki grew up in Zimbabwe, where she studied culinary arts. She then moved to London and worked in a number of prestigious restaurants, including the Ivy, J Sheekys and Scott’s in Mayfair.
